Our New Headline Sponsor – Diversey Care!

Here at Eco-Schools, we work hard to bring on board businesses, charities, campaigns and individuals that can help our schools to become more sustainable and work their way towards an internationally recognised Green Flag.

We have been on the lookout for a business who are committed to sustainability, whose staff want to support our programme and whose vision for a cleaner, healthier world fits with ours. With this in mind, we have secured Headline Sponsors of Eco-Schools England – internationally renowned business Diversey Care, industry leaders in cleaning, sanitation and hygiene.

Diversey Care’s environmental credentials are varied and impressive, from their plant-based cleaning range Sure, to their commitment through WWF Climate Savers to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Find out more about why they’re a great fit with Eco-Schools here.

The company will offer advice and support on sustainable cleaning and wider sustainability topics to schools that want to achieve and maintain Eco-Schools accreditation. They will provide bespoke materials for schools and online resources available on their partner profile page.

Lindsay Childerhouse, Eco-Schools project leader at Diversey Care in the UK, said: “Supporting Eco-Schools is a natural extension of our commitment to sustainability and working with schools and the community.

“Improving the efficacy of cleaning chemicals and efficiency of equipment is what we do. We’ll use our long-standing experience in cleaning and hygiene to help schools improve sustainable processes, achieve their Eco-Schools programme objectives and secure Green Flag awards. We’ll also work with the Eco-Schools team to help them to develop the programme.”

As a sign of their commitment to the Eco-Schools programme, a team of eight staff have formed an Eco-Committee and are following the seven-step process at their own workplace, Diversey Care UK HQ in Northampton. As a first action, every member of staff has been given a single planted marigold seed which they are being encouraged to nurture over the next two months. In May, all staff will plant up their outdoor space to create a hive for wildlife.

The Diversey Care staff have also trained as Eco-Schools Assessors, to better understand the programme and be able to see the positive impact it has in schools across the country.

We are extremely excited to have Diversey Care on board and know that they will bring a lot to Eco-Schools – so watch this space for tips, offers and engagement throughout 2017!
