The Eco-Schools Programme is pupil-led, involving hands-on learning that gets the whole school and the wider community involved in exciting environmental projects.
We provide our schools with FREE resources for each of the Seven Steps to help you progress to the international Eco-Schools Green Flag within 12 months of registration. Schools do not need to pay for additional support from third parties. On top of this our experienced team of former teachers are here to support you and can be contacted throughout the year to answer your questions.
To make the Eco-Schools programme more manageable and to fit into term time, schools will need to complete our online, self-assessed Bronze Award and Silver Award as they progress to Eco-Schools Green Flag success.
There are ten topics that schools can pick from to help focus their Eco-Schools work. All topics can be easily incorporated into school life and curriculum regardless of the age of your pupils. Schools must work on the following:
- Three topics for the Silver Award and Eco-Schools Green Flag
- Five topics for Eco-Schools Green Flag renewals (every two years) changing two of the five topics with every subsequent renewal.
