Many of us live our lives rushing through the school day, blink and it’s the end of term. Life is happening, but we may not notice due to everything else that is going on in our school environment. Mindfulness has many definitions, put simply it means being more aware of what is going on around and learning from what we find. To do this we need to pay full attention to all our senses rather than getting swept up in life and our school routine.
This week long Eco-Project aims to get pupils and school staff thinking about, and actively promoting, positive mental health and well-being.
Coming in 2021, Mindfulness Minutes Month
Prior to the 2021 exams, we will be launching a brand new Mindfulness Minutes nationwide campaign to collectively achieve one million minutes of mindfulness.
Mindfulness Minutes Seven Step Guide
“I’ve really enjoyed taking part in the Mindfulness Minutes Project. I feel it has brought us closer together as a class, as we’ve had so many reflection and quiet times together where we’ve been able to appreciate each other. Mental health and well-being is such an important topic and it’s great that Eco-Schools are doing something about it.”
