Volunteer with us

What our volunteers do

Our volunteers visit schools to carry out Eco-Schools Green Flag assessments.

As a Volunteer Eco-Schools Assessor you will visit schools in your area to help us assess whether a school has met the criteria required to achieve the Eco-Schools Green Flag.

An assessment visit will usually last between one and two hours and you will be fully trained beforehand.

Benefits of becoming a Green Flag Assessor

There are many benefits associated with being an Eco-Schools Volunteer Assessor

Benefits include:

  • Receive professional volunteering training
  • Meet others interested in the Eco-Schools programme
  • Gain inspiration from real-life examples of environmental action and learning
  • Develop skills in communication, observation and assessment
  • Practice report writing and administration skills
  • Have fun!

Don’t just take our word for  it. Read the blog from Kathryn Shuttleworth, Managing Director of David Luke, who recently carried out her first Green Flag Assessment visit.
