Tick off the Waste topic with the Pod’s Waste Week this March!
Waste Week is a national campaign, run by EDF Energy’s award winning schools programme the Pod and the theme for 2019 is plastic waste!
Join in with over 1,400 other schools already taking part and make a difference to your local community and environment, as well are your Eco-Schools Green Flag application.
Reasons to take part:
- It’s fun and topical – a great activity for a new or established Eco-Committee
- It’s curriculum-linked and easy to run – find everything you need on the Pod including lesson plans, information packs and games, to get the whole school working together
- It’s rewarding and measurable – there are downloadable certificates for students, and a plastic audit to start and finish your campaign to measure the impact
- It increases student’s awareness of this real-life issue – and gives them an opportunity to tackle it locally, as part of a national campaign
Maximise your impact – run Waste Week and the Great Big School Clean this March!
Last year schools across the UK chose to take part in both activities and make twice the difference! You can take part in Waste Week at any time during March, which means it can be before or after your #GBSchoolClean.
Already got plastic waste covered? The Pod has a huge range of resources on waste topics including food and packaging, WEEE, upcycling and more that could help you achieve your Eco-Schools Green Flag Award.
