Help us Build a School Carbon Calculator

Help us Build a School Carbon Calculator

We are excited to announce that in the 2023/24 academic year, Eco-Schools, supported by Let’s Go Zero, will be launching a free-to-use, online carbon footprint calculator, built specifically for schools.

The Count Your Carbon Tool will, for the first time, allow schools to count their carbon across all three ‘emission scopes’, as defined by the GHG Protocol. Schools can input information which will then be used to produce a bespoke carbon emissions report, revealing where your school’s biggest carbon burden lies, and provide you with a personalised Climate Action Plan to help your students drive change.

We need your help!

We’re asking schools to complete a short survey to help build a data baseline for our tool. Your answers will help make the calculator as accurate as possible, and establish averages for use when schools might not know all the answers.

All schools that complete the survey will also be entered into a prize draw to win the following:

  • Ten schools will receive a personalised footprint analysis by our developers, Arete Zero Carbon, this Summer.
  • Five schools will get their Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation for free this summer. If you’ve already paid, we’ll reimburse you!

This game-changing tool will support young people with the knowledge and advice needed to make real carbon reductions within their school estate.

We are excited to invite you to join us on this journey to make the tool as accurate as possible.

Thank you for taking part and making change happen.
