Harvest Festival LIVE

We have teamed up with JLS band member and farmer JB Gill and Jordans Cereals to bring you Harvest Festival LIVE, the UK’s first ever virtual harvest festival taking place on Friday 9th October 2020 at 10.00.

As part of the festival we have an amazing competition for you that can also be used by registered Eco-Schools as topic evidence when applying for our international Eco-Schools Green Flag.

We would like you to write a short poem entitled
‘How Nature Helps the Harvest’

Hedgerows and hedgehogs, worms and woodlice, butterflies and bees. Sun and soil, wind and water, tractors and trees. Get creative with poetry and tell us how you think nature helps our farmers grow and care for their crops.

Not a registered Eco-School?
That does not matter this competition is open to everyone under the age of 18! We welcome applications from those who are home educated, youth groups and families looking for a fun task to celebrate British wildlife and how it helps grow the food we love to eat.

Competition terms and conditions

This Eco-Project can be linked to the Eco-Schools Topics:

There's more to farms than just fields! Farms can be great habitats for wildlife when they're well looked after, which is great because 70% of land in the UK is linked to farming. Jordans' farmers carefully manage 4,200 football pitches worth of land, making sure that our wildlife benefit from from food and shelter. Global Citizenship

Harvest Festival LIVE is the UK's very first virtual harvest festival and it's all about teaching the nation's next generation what it takes to grow the food we all love and enjoy so much. The festival aims to teach young people how important nature is to our diets and how they can protect nature to help protect the global population.
