PLEASE NOTE GREEN FLAG FUNDING IS NOW CLOSED

For the second year running, we are pleased to announce that our friends at the Vegetarian Society are offering to cover the £200 cost of an Eco-Schools Green Flag award.

This wonderful opportunity is available to 50 schools, nurseries or colleges (at any award level). We are accepting applications until 31st May 2019, but funding will be granted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

To apply for Vegetarian Society funding you simply need to complete the Vegetarian Society Funding Application Form (below) that asks you to describe how you and your Eco-Committee have promoted the health and environmental benefits of vegetarian food as part of your Eco-Schools work. You have the choice to link your vegetarian food actions to any of our ten Eco-Schools topics, but we would also like to know how your Eco-Committee have monitored and evaluated the impact of their vegetarian food actions.

After submitting your Vegetarian Society Funding Application (by Monday 3rd June 2019), you will then need to submit a successful Green Flag application by:

  • 15th July 2019 for schools and colleges working towards their first Eco-Schools Green Flag award.
  • 31st August 2019 for nurseries working towards their first Eco-Schools Green Flag award.
  • 31st December 2019 for all schools, nurseries or colleges renewing their Eco-Schools Green Flag.
  • Please note if you have already submitted a Green Flag application or recently had a Green Flag assessment visit we are not able to back date this funding opportunity. 

If you fail to submit a successful application before the appropriate deadline, your funding bid will be declined and you will be asked to cover the usual £200 cost of an Eco-Schools Green Flag assessment when you submit a successful Green Flag application.
