Biodiversity
Although it is extremely hard to determine the exact number of species that we share the planet with, we know that it is a lot and that there is great diversity. How do you promote Biodiversity at school?
Find out moreThe ten Eco-Schools topics are distinct and are broad enough to allow your pupils to run projects that they are passionate about. Whatever projects your Eco-committee decide on they should sit neatly under one (or several) of our ten topics. Please remember one action could cover multiple topics depending on how it is carried out, for instance pupils growing vegetables to be eaten as snacks during break time covers both the Schools Grounds & Healthy Living topics.
We also understand your school maybe working on other local and national campaigns such as Modeshift Stars, RSPB Big Schools Birdwatch or RHS Campaign for School Gardening- these can ALL be included retrospectively in your Action Plan and will be accepted as topic evidence for your Green Flag application. Use our international Eco-Schools Green Flag Award as an umbrella, bringing together and celebrating all the environmental work your school has done and is doing. Together stronger!
Once you have read about our 10 topics head to Eco-Schools England Pinterest Topic Boards for lots more inspiration.
