Waste #EcoSchoolsAtHome

Good evening to all of our amazing educators, students and eco-families we hope that you are safe, well and continuing to stay in contact with friends, families, colleagues and classmates. Thank you for sharing all your fantastic Eco-School fun with us on social media (TwitterInstagramFacebook). A huge thank you especially to all of our schools who are including examples of their pupils and families carrying out our #EcoSchoolsAtHome actions as evidence for their Green Flag award! It has been heartwarming to see schools and families coming together to help support each other over the past few months.

We can’t quite believe we are already on our 9th #EcoSchoolsAtHome resource, which this week is focusing on our Waste topic. We hope that you have enjoyed these resources so far and they have helped inspire some ecological home (and school) learning! This weeks’ resource has a variety of activities suitable for everyone including:

  • The Eco-Schools National Waste Survey, which is simple and quick to complete, and will help Eco-Schools and Keep Britain Tidy improve recycling in schools across England.
  • Getting crafty with links to RSPB learning.
  • Researching recycling in your local area and beyond.
  • Reducing Food Waste.

Don’t forget, we are still approving Green Flag Applications (without assessor visits), if you want to apply online and have your hard work recognised (if you have any questions please e-mail eco-schools@keepbritaintidy.org).

As always stay safe, we can’t wait to see you all again for assessment visits and training!

The Eco-Schools Team,

Lee, Francis, Karyn and Shona
