Eco-Schools’ Training 2023-2024

Eco-Schools England is proud to announce that in 2023-2024 we will be partnering with Bupa Foundation meaning that the Eco-Schools’ team can once again offer free training to any adult who works in a school, college, or nursery in England. Eco-Schools’ training sessions are designed to provide practical advice, inspiration, and real-life examples to educators who want to support youth-led eco-action and increase environmental education in their setting. Training is divided into three sessions, allowing the Eco-Schools Team to accompany you on your journey to Eco-Schools Green Flag and be on hand should you require help, support, or advice.

  • Session 1 will take place during Autumn Term and will provide an overview of the programme, tour the Eco-Schools’ portal and resources, and then provide practical advice on creating an Eco-Committee, completing an Environmental Review, and developing an impactful yet manageable Action Plan.
  • Session 2 will take place during Spring Term and provides a chance to catch-up and ask questions before sharing advice on using environmental issues to enrich learning and expanding your environmental activity to your entire school and wider community.
  • Session 3 will take place during Summer Term. Again, there will be a chance to ask questions and reflect on your journey before discussion moves on to the best ways to evaluate eco-projects and creating a powerful environmental mission statement for your setting. This session will also contain information about applying for an Eco-Schools Green Flag and what to expect during the assessment process.
